Not only that, but he can sometimes be shown to be skilled, competent, or talented. In the Sonic Boom TV series, he isn't always being dumb, he has shown to be capable of showing some smarts and wisdom. His catchphrase with saying "Not Cool ", for example, can be amusing. On some occasions, he has funny lines and moments, like when he says "Who says I skip leg day?" while running on one of the treadmills of an Eggman robot.Travis Willingham still does a great job voicing him, almost sounding identical to Dan Green (who previously voiced Knuckles before Willingham). He was a much better character in the games and redeemed himself when the show ended, Sonic Forces and the movie Sonic the hedgehog 2.The latter has him being even dumber than usual and getting carried away with his delusions that he tried using to help Sonic which were screwups as a result. While his idiocy was decently executed throughout the show, his stupidity was at his worst in two episodes: Counter-Productive and Don't Judge Me.Which doesn't really sound all that funny either. Most of his dialogue is just regularly to what any generic 'idiot comic-relief would usually say.The stuff that he does as an 'idiot' character isn't really all that amusing nor interesting, it just looks annoying and tiresome. In all interactions of Boom Knuckles (with a slight exception of the show), he is quite stupid and annoyingly so more often than not.In fact, as you can tell by his huge chest and very thick arms, he doesn't even look like a real muscleman at all, and is more like some sort of red-furred fat man, which might explain why Amy said Knuckles was fat in one of Sir Isaac's YouTube videos. His character design (while rendered well) looks awful to the faithful look of Knuckles and is rather shallow looking since he is depicted as the typical 'dumb muscleman of the group. He can't even climb the wall with all elements, instead, it's just the rock thing and that's pretty much it. A prime example of how his stupidity was done in a completely unfunny way. In the Rise of Lyric, he had to slowly figure out what his right is from his left. This portrayal of Knuckles as this muscular, slow-witted, goofy, idiotic stereotype (in both the show, the Boom games, and the Archie comics) nearly reinforced the debase of Knuckles being a serious character without any high status whatsoever.Instead of being portrayed as the same Knuckles in the games who was a bit gullible yet still smart and a likable hero that cares about saving the planet and everyone, he is portrayed as a generic, brutal, immature, impulsive, oblivious & lazy dumbass of the group.
